Beach Hazards Statement issued June 4 at 4:07AM CDT until June 4 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Duluth MN * WHAT...Dangerous swimming conditions are expected along the Lake Superior shoreline due to high wave action and strong rip currents. * WHERE...Minnesota Park Point and Wisconsin Point Beaches. * WHEN...From 9 AM CDT this morning through this evening. * IMPACTS...High wave action can make swimming difficult on days such as this. Incoming waves in rapid succession can tire even an experienced swimmer quickly. Rip currents can usher you away from land. To avoid being swept away, swim parallel to the shore to exit a rip current.. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

Flood Watch issued June 4 at 3:42PM CDT until June 5 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Duluth MN * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...In Minnesota, Pine County and Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Price, Sawyer and Washburn Counties. This includes the Tribal Lands of the St. Croix Band in Burnett County, the Bad River Reservation, the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, the Red Cliff Band, the northwestern county of the Lac du Flambeau Band and the Mille Lacs Band, Hinckley and, Lena Lake counties. Recreation spots such as Madeline Island and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. * WHEN...Through 1 PM Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rainfall Sunday night into Monday morning over the watch area has led to water level increases in area creeks and streams and moist soils. More showers and thunderstorms will occur Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning which may lead to localized minor flooding. - Flood safety information can be found at www.weather.gov/safety/flood. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
