Road Snowfall Warning Area: Lindis Pass (SH8) Forecast: Snow showers expected about the summit early Sunday and 1 to 3 cm may accumulate there by dawn. Snow showers gradually lowering to 400 metres during the afternoon and 10 to 15 cm may accumulate about the summit and 1 to 3 cm down to 400 metres. Impact: Note: A Road Snowfall Warning means there is a likelihood of snow settling on the road during the warning period. Strong Wind Warning - Orange Area: Canterbury High Country Forecast: Severe northwest gales, gusting 130 km/h in exposed places. Impact: Damage to trees, powerlines, and unsecured structures possible. Driving may be difficult, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles. Chance of upgrading to a Red Warning: Minimal. Impact: Action: Prepare your property by securing items that can be picked up by strong winds. Drive cautiously.
