Flood Watch issued June 9 at 11:51AM AKDT until June 10 at 4:00AM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK Rainfall continues for Kodiak Island. Upwards of 4 inches of rain has already fallen across eastern Kodiak Island, including Kodiak City. Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected through early Monday. Therefore flooding remains possible. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall remains possible. * WHERE...Kodiak Island, including Kodiak City. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Landslides may be possible in areas of steep terrain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A prolonged period of rain is forecast across Kodiak Island. Total rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches are anticipated. Rain may be heavy at times. With the ground already saturated from previous bouts of rain, flooding of streams and rivers will remain possible.
