Red Flag Warning issued June 18 at 1:19PM AKDT until June 18 at 10:00PM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK * AFFECTED AREA...Upper Koyukuk Valley, Dalton Highway Summits and Yukon Flats. * TIMING...Until 10 PM AKDT this evening. * LIGHTNING ACTIVITY LEVEL...4. * WINDS...Southwest 5 to 10 mph. * HUMIDITY...24 to 34 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Highs in the lower 70s to lower 80s. * IMPACTS...Frequent lightning can promote near fire starts. Hot and dry conditions may lead to rapid spread of fires. Thunderstorms may will come with brief heavy rain, frequent lightning, hail and erratic winds gusting to 30 mph. The warmest and driest conditions are in the Yukon Flats. A Red Flag Warning means that conditions are occurring or will occur which could lead to the development of large and dangerous fires. It is directed toward fire agencies, and through them, to the public. Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the field of this Red Flag Warning.
