Heat Advisory issued July 13 at 8:38AM PDT until July 16 at 8:00PM PDT by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA * WHAT...Temperatures of 90 to 110 degrees, hottest on Wednesday and over interior areas. * WHERE...San Luis Obispo County Interior Valleys, San Luis Obispo County Mountains, Southern Salinas Valley, and Southern Ventura County Mountains. * WHEN...Until 8 PM PDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness for anyone, especially for the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Humid conditions will add to the heat to potentially worsen heat impacts. Effects of the heat will build through the week, with warm overnight low temperatures providing little relief from the heat. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
