Special Weather Statement issued July 9 at 2:59PM MDT by NWS Denver CO At 259 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of showers extending from over Chatfield Reservoir to near Arapahoe Park, or extending from 12 miles southwest of Denver to 18 miles southeast of Denver, moving north at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Denver, Aurora, southeastern Lakewood, Centennial, Highlands Ranch, Parker, Littleton, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Lone Tree, Sheridan, Buckley SFB, Arapahoe Park, Chatfield Reservoir, Cherry Hills Village, Foxfield, Cherry Creek Reservoir and Columbine. Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening weather conditions. If on or near a lake, get out of the water and secure loose items. Boaters can expect strong gusty winds and locally higher waves. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately.
