Special Weather Statement issued July 27 at 2:48AM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD Areas of fog, occasionally reducing visibility to around 1/4 mile, have developed in portions of southeast South Dakota and southwest Minnesota early this Monday morning. Travelers should be prepared for rapidly deteriorating or changing visibility, and use extra caution at intersections and railroad crossings. The fog is expected to improve by 7 to 8 AM.

Heat Advisory issued July 27 at 4:10AM CDT until July 27 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SD * WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, and south central and southeast South Dakota. * WHEN...Until 8 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
