Travel will be dangerous and possibly life-threatening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Visibility reductions are associated with storm outflow winds, be alert for sudden reductions in visibility. People with respiratory problems should make preparations to stay indoors until the storm passes. Be ready for a sudden drop in visibility to near zero. If you encounter blowing dust or blowing sand on the roadway or see it approaching, pull off the road as far as possible and put your vehicle in park. Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 30 at 6:30PM MDT until June 30 at 7:15PM MDT by NWS Goodland KS At 630 PM MDT/730 PM CDT/, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles southwest of Brewster, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Brewster and Edson. This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 21 and 41. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. This thunderstorm will produce strong winds resulting in areas of near zero visibility in blowing dirt. Use extreme caution if you must travel and be alert for rapidly changing visibility.
