Special Weather Statement issued July 5 at 4:49PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY At 4:45 PM CDT, numerous thunderstorms capable of producing gusty winds up to 40 mph, torrential rainfall, and possibly small hail were located across the Land Between the Lakes region and the southern Kentucky Pennyrile. Additionally, numerous lightning strikes are occurring with these storms. A few storms may intensify to severe levels as well. If outdoors, move indoors or a hard-topped vehicle if thunderstorms threat your location.

Flood Advisory issued July 5 at 4:47PM CDT until July 5 at 7:45PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of western Kentucky, including the following counties, Christian and Todd. * WHEN...Until 745 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 446 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Hopkinsville, Elkton, Guthrie, Pembroke, Allegre, Clifty, Justice and Allensville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
