Special Weather Statement issued July 5 at 4:49PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY At 4:45 PM CDT, numerous thunderstorms capable of producing gusty winds up to 40 mph, torrential rainfall, and possibly small hail were located across the Land Between the Lakes region and the southern Kentucky Pennyrile. Additionally, numerous lightning strikes are occurring with these storms. A few storms may intensify to severe levels as well. If outdoors, move indoors or a hard-topped vehicle if thunderstorms threat your location.

Southeastern Hopkins County in northwestern Kentucky... Northeastern Christian County in south central Kentucky... Muhlenberg County in south central Kentucky... Northern Todd County in south central Kentucky... * Until 1130 PM CDT Sunday. * At 522 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Central City, Nortonville, Crofton, Powderly, Weir, Greenville, Graham, Dunmor, White Plains, Drakesboro and Clifty. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
