Flood Watch issued May 13 at 9:13AM CDT until May 14 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Lake Charles LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes, Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Evangeline, Rapides and Vernon and southeast Texas, including the following areas, Hardin, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Southern Jasper, Southern Newton and Tyler. * WHEN...Through Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to affect the region again today into tonight. Portions of the area received 2 to 4 inches of rainfall Sunday, and an additional 1 to 3 inches is expected today, along with localized higher amounts. With the ground saturated from previous rains yesterday and over the past couple of weeks, any additional rain will increase runoff, resulting in an increased risk for flooding. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
