Flood Watch issued June 9 at 4:16AM CDT until June 9 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following areas, Bourbon, Cherokee and Crawford and Missouri, including the following areas, Barry, Barton, Benton, Camden, Cedar, Christian, Dade, Dallas, Dent, Douglas, Greene, Hickory, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawrence, Maries, McDonald, Miller, Morgan, Newton, Oregon, Ozark, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon, St. Clair, Stone, Taney, Texas, Vernon, Webster and Wright. * WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rainfall has fallen across portions of the area Saturday evening into early this morning with rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches occurring across portions of the area. Ongoing flooding is occurring within these area that have received the heavy rainfall. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches will be possible. Flood Warning issued June 9 at 2:07AM CDT until June 9 at 2:15PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Missouri, including the following counties, in south central Missouri, Howell, Oregon and Shannon. In southwest Missouri, Christian, Douglas and Ozark. * WHEN...Until 215 PM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 207 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Significant additional rainfall is expected into the day Sunday. - This includes the following low water crossings... Beaver Creek at County Road 524, Howell Creek at County Road 9790, Warm Fork Spring River at County Road 323, Little North Fork River at County Road 916, Lick Creek at County Road 528, Bull Creek at Center Road and Wilson's Creek at Old Limey Road. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southern Springfield, Nixa, Ozark, West Plains, Ava, Mountain View, Thayer, Willow Springs, Highlandville, Sparta, Winona, Alton, Gainesville, Birch Tree, Bakersfield, Fremont Hills, Pomona, South Fork, Koshkonong, Brandsville, Wasola, Montier, Thomasville, Siloam Springs, Dora, Pottersville, Sycamore, Caulfield, Drury, Vanzant, Gentryville, Zanoni, Tecumseh, Rockbridge, Brixey, Udall, Moody, Hardenville, White Church and Brushyknob. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
