Flash Flood Warning issued July 9 at 4:16PM EDT until July 9 at 7:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 416 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Philadelphia, Bensalem, Evesham, Mount Laurel, Willingboro, Medford, Lumberton, Yeadon, Burlington, Bristol, Mount Holly and Riverside. People attending Lemon Hill should seek shelter immediately. This includes the following highways... Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 37 and 51. Interstate 476 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 7 and 9. New Jersey Turnpike between exits 4 and 6A. Interstate 76 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 337 and 344. Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 27 and 40. Interstate 676 in Pennsylvania near mile marker 0. Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 347 and 359. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
