For the Extreme Heat Watch, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values 110 or greater possible. * WHERE...Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Gates, Hertford, Northampton, Pasquotank, Perquimans, and Western Currituck Counties. * WHEN...For the first Heat Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this evening. For the second Heat Advisory, from 10 AM to 8 PM EDT Friday. For the Extreme Heat Watch, from Saturday morning through Saturday evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
