Beach Hazards Statement issued July 6 at 3:09AM EDT until July 6 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH * WHAT...High risk of rip currents. * WHERE...Lucas, Ottawa and Erie Counties. * WHEN...Through this evening. * IMPACTS...Wind and wave action will cause currents on the lakeshore. Swimmers should not enter the water. Currents can carry swimmers away from shore through a sand bar and along structures extending out into the lake. Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.

In northwest Ohio, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky and Wood. * WHEN...Through this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Showers and thunderstorms with periods of torrential rain rates will continue to occasionally affect the area through this afternoon. Rain rates of greater than 2 inches per hour are possible with thunderstorms, which can quickly result in flooding in prone areas. - Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety and preparedness information.
