Special Weather Statement issued July 11 at 4:57PM EDT by NWS Charleston SC At 457 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms extending from over Southern Lake Moultrie to 6 miles northwest of Hendersonville, moving southeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Moncks Corner, Walterboro, Edisto Beach, Ladson and Givhans Ferry State Park. This includes the following highways... I-26 between mile markers 180 and 221. I-526 between mile markers 11 and 31. I-95 in South Carolina between mile markers 42 and 70. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
